“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so” spoken by Hamlet in Shakespeare’s play (Act II, Scene 2)
When I was in high school, I remember seeing a book called “Managing Your Mind” – at the time it was an epiphany for me that there was a concept of “managing my mind in” such a way that it could possibly improve my life.
I’m not sure the book made any more of an impression on me than that at the time, but the title always stuck with me.
This blog and much of the work that I do is a derivative of “managing your mind”- so that the rest of your life is better. On first blush it sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it? But if it were easy, there wouldn’t be rows and rows of self-help books at the bookstore, or so much addiction, depression, violence, and aggression in our world. It’s simple but not easy.
Through my blog and my work as a coach/strategic advisor, I help clients find ways of simplifying and seeing- and helping their mind get out of the way. There are many tools and much wisdom available to help us all get on a less stressful path through life. These tools can be applied from anything to work projects or relationships. They are universal and if practiced, can bring peace of mind to much of what we do.
Through this blog, I will bring you the best of the tools and strategies I have found during my years of seeking ways to live fully and peacefully.
I have come to see that everything in life, and I truly mean everything, comes down to how we decide to look at it- while we are powerless over others, we have so much power within ourselves in how we take things in and react. Once tapped into, this internal power is almost miraculous. There are many ways to get there.
Thank you for reading and I hope you will find some new ways to approach old problems!
